Malabar Baby is proud to partner with PathFinders Hong Kong—an incredible NGO dedicated to uplifting migrant mothers and their children. Connected by a shared belief that every baby deserves a strong start in life, we donated 100 of our award-winning, organic cotton muslin swaddles to support mothers navigating difficult circumstances with comfort, dignity, and care.
More than a donation, this partnership celebrates a deeper mission: nurturing secure, loving environments during a child’s earliest days.
A Heartfelt Visit
Recently, our Founder Anjali and team member Tina visited PathFinders’ center in Hong Kong to personally deliver 100 of our award-winning, organic cotton swaddles. Spending time with the remarkable women and babies in their care was deeply moving.

We’re honored to stand with PathFinders, amplify their vital mission, and inspire others to help create lasting impact—right here in our local community.
Spotlight: Catherine Gurtin, CEO of PathFinders
PathFinders works with some of the most vulnerable children and mothers in Hong Kong. What drives your passion for this mission, and why is it so important to you?
Catherine: None of us choose the circumstances of our birth and/or where we were born. It was only by sheer chance and good fortune that I was born in the UK to parents who were able to provide me with a great start in life. The children we serve at PathFinders don’t choose either. No child born in Hong Kong should be deprived of an identity, healthcare, basic supplies, and shelter!
As a mom, I’m only able to work in HK—thanks to the enormous support of our Migrant Domestic Worker (MDW). Like me, Aunty Xyxy is a working mom. She's here to ensure her children (similar in age to mine!) receive a good education. Benefitting from the support of a MDW and motivated by the belief that all children deserve a fair start provides me with boundless inspiration to do all we can for the migrant mothers and children we serve at PathFinders.
PathFinders is committed to finding practical and affordable solutions for migrant mothers and children. What are some key initiatives you’re working on to create lasting impact?
Catherine: We believe that with imagination, collaboration, and a commitment to strengthening protections for the children we serve, practical and affordable solutions can be found—ensuring fewer migrant mothers and children fall into crisis.
It is with a laser focus on this belief that we remain steadfast in our ambition to:
- Serve more migrant mothers and children, intervening before a pregnancy reaches the point of crisis and requires dedicated care and support.
- Train and empower MDWs as community leaders to engage more deeply in conversations with their peers about sexual and reproductive health and to prevent unplanned pregnancies.
- Test and create new solutions that enable employers to offer pregnant MDWs job security while maintaining their own household needs.
It takes a village to raise a child. As a local, non-government-funded organisation that serves a marginalised community, we can only do what we do in collaboration with others. We are so grateful to all those who join hands with us, as part of our village, to ensure that together we can protect some of the most vulnerable and unsupported children in our community.
How to give back
Want to support PathFinders in a hands-on way? Join a Maternity Bag Packing Session in Hong Kong—an empowering 90-minute experience that helps expectant moms feel prepared for birth and beyond.
Each session supports around 30 women and can be scaled based on your team size and budget (approx. HK$1,000 per volunteer). These kits offer new moms essential items for caring for their babies, while also providing a moment of dignity, comfort, and emotional support during a transformative time.
